Cloud services have now become part of the mainstream, and companies big and small are using the technology to address many of their IT needs. When the technology was developing there was only a limited number of services, including SaaS (News - Alert), IaaS and PaaS. But now you can get virtually any type of service delivered via the cloud with the same reliability as on premises deployments. Windstream, a provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, had its Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting recognized by Gartner for its quality service in the segment.

Windstream (News - Alert) was positioned by Gartner in the Niche Quadrant of the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service, North America, and the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, North America.

This recognition is placed on companies after Gartner (News - Alert) analyzes and evaluates service providers for each Magic Quadrant based on the criteria of completeness of vision and ability to execute, according to Windstream.

As the inaugural Magic Quadrant for DRaaS, 14 companies that deploy and manage virtual machine replication or physical machine replication into the cloud were evaluated.

For the Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, North America, 19 service providers that offer cloud-enabled managed hosting and bring cloud-like consumption and provisioning attributes to the traditional managed hosting market were reviewed.

The Windstream Managed Services are designed to free up your valuable time and maximize the resources by managing your business communication and technology initiatives, either in part or whole. This includes offloading many different IT operations, as well as managing your voice and data networks, security, equipment, databases, applications, storage and maintenance.

"Windstream's Hosted Solutions team is dedicated to growing the market and strengthening our offerings to bring the innovative, smart solutions that enterprises need to run their businesses more securely and efficiently," said Joseph Harding, Windstream's executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

With so many service providers in the marketplace it is becoming increasingly more difficult to scrutinize their offerings. When a company is recognized by an established organizations such as Gartner, it makes the process that much easier.

As Harding went on to say, "We believe receiving this Gartner Magic Quadrant acknowledgment reflects the years of hard work that our Winning Team has invested in developing our diverse portfolio of cloud and managed solutions."
