Nobody Does Data Like Druva

Traditionally, data protection was built around data centers but as data goes mobile and moves to the cloud, a new way to manage and protect this data was needed. Many firms today are approaching this issue with diligence but none quite like Druva.

At TMC (News - Alert) Editor’s Day Silicon Valley, Jaspreet Singh Founder and CEO of Druva said, “Security is like an onion...every layer has a different flavor.” Singh and his team approach security with this mindset, ensuring that each layer is adequately addressed, building its reputation though word of mouth and earning the firm high praise from Gartner.

Not one to rest on their laurels, Druva announced today it is the first company to offer FIPS-enabled endpoint data protection in the AWS GovCloud. The newly announced support means Druva’s governance and data protection solution can be put to work in the cloud, and now government agencies with required adherence to the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 encryption can meet technology requirements to run sensitive workloads.

“We’ve seen a sharp increase in interest from government agencies and contractors for endpoint data protection in the cloud as part of the US government’s cloud-first initiative. Public cloud environments like Amazon’s GovCloud have been a huge step in the right direction, but the lack of software vendors meeting their unique data processing requirements has created barriers to adoption,” explained Singh.

Druva integrated encryption modules on the device level as well as the endpoint and storage level in the cloud to provide protection for firms working under the FIPS guidelines.

Singh continued, “By bringing together GovCloud with FIPS support, Druva becomes the first data protection and governance solution that can be utilized by these organizations, ensuring they meet the standards set forth by NIST.”

There are three key components to Druva’s end-to-end FIPS support within GovCloud. FIPS Data Transmission provides for mobile devices to send data to the AWS GovCloud where it is received via FIPS validated SSL terminating point. The AWS GovCloud was designed specifically for government agencies to handle sensitive workloads in the cloud within regulatory standards. FIPS Data Storage leverages Druva’s data duplication to add layers of security for customer data.

“The Druva solution allows organizations to operate in a secure cloud environment and adhere to standards such as FIPS,” said Henry Baltazar, Research Director for the Storage Channel, 451 Research (News - Alert).

This seven year old start up has kept its head in the cloud since day one, believing in this game changing innovation since the start. It started as a hosted model for SMBs and consumers, and recently signed on as a Microsoft Azure partner.

In today’s cloud ecosystem, if you’re not ahead of the game you’re bringing up the rear. This pioneer is positioned for a prosperous future, as nobody does data like Druva.
