Large enterprises with a global presence have to connect with all their assets, no matter where they are, and access the resources they need anytime. This is a time consuming and resource intensive process, but with today’s technology it can be a seamless experience. However, it requires the right solution, which is why Equinix (News - Alert) and Global Capacity have announced their collaboration to give enterprises direct access to cloud service providers.
Cloud technology has simplified the delivery of IT without having to invest in on-premises infrastructure. And as more service providers make their solutions available through the cloud, the Equinix Cloud Exchange though the Global Capacity (News - Alert) One Marketplace is bringing more providers together so enterprises can get everything they need under one roof.
“The secure, high-performance connectivity provided by One Marketplace to the Equinix Cloud Exchange allows enterprises to access the services needed to build sophisticated hybrid cloud solutions capable of supporting their business-critical operations and applications,” said Jim Poole, Vice President, Global Service Providers, Equinix
Equinix is a global interconnection and data center company. Its Cloud Exchange has been designed with simple and scalable platform with direct access to the multiple cloud services organizations need to build highly flexible hybrid cloud solutions with on-demand and access to multiple clouds, across multiple networks globally.
On the other hand, the One Marketplace by Global Capacity leverages an interconnected network aggregation platform with a suite of innovative user applications combined to streamline and simplify the process of designing, pricing, procuring and delivering data connectivity solutions. The platform currently supports over 200,000 circuits.
With this collaboration, they will give enterprises high-performance access to multiple cloud services from the eight Equinix International Business Exchange data centers, which is where Global Capacity resides. This will make the 9.6 million commercial addresses Global Capacity provides network access to available to cloud service providers so they can reach a wider enterprise audience. The services will be delivered through a direct Ethernet connection from One Marketplace to the Equinix Cloud Exchange.
Ben Edmond, Chief Revenue Officer, Global Capacity, said “Demand for public, private and hybrid cloud services continues to grow steadily throughout the enterprise sector. We are proud to offer our enterprise customers a simple, reliable and cost-effective solution to accelerate cloud migration through the interconnection of One Marketplace and the Equinix Cloud Exchange.”
More than anything, the collaboration between Equinix and Global Capacity will get rid of the limitations enterprises are facing because of a physical presence in a particular location. Now enterprise grade resources will be available without compromising on the technology they need and being physically inside a location.
