Bridges, Jr., Director, NASA Langley Research Center will highlight the importance of sensors to NASA's mission.

A Homeland Security Plenary Address on Tuesday, September 14 at 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. will feature invited representatives from the Department of Homeland Security and its supporting agencies, to be introduced by Hugh Montgomery, SES, former Director of the Department of the Navy's, Science & Technology Division and currently the Executive Director of IDHS (Institute of Defense and Homeland Security).

SensorsGov is the premiere sensor technology event filling the specific educational, development and resource needs of U.S. Government and Military organizations such as the Joint Forces, Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, NASA, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Department of Commerce (DoC). The event promises to provide a valuable educational venue for sensor R&D communities across Government and Military agencies.

A content-rich conference program will be an important part of SensorsGov. The program, developed in collaboration with Sensor Science & Technology Forum (www.hamptonroadssensors.com) and the Sensors Conference Advisory Committee consisting of representatives of the U.S. Military and other industry leaders, will include key innovators from the government, military, university and industry. In addition to the conference sessions, keynote speakers and special events, SensorsGov will feature the latest products and services from world-class companies serving the sensor engineering, research and development, quality control, test engineering and operations and maintenance markets. The exhibit floor will offer the latest in sensors; MEMS; piezoelectrics; optical; nanotechnology; fiber-optics; acoustics; ultrasonics microelectronics; ASICs; embedded systems; networking products; wireless devices; instrumentation and controls; computer hardware, software and peripherals, data acquisition and information networks.

Conference Chairperson, Richard Lally, commented, "The response to this opportunity to share the latest in Sensors between Government Agencies, Industry and Non-profit Organizations has been tremendous. We're really grateful to the Steering Committee, Session Chairpersons and Congressman Schrock's office for all their hard work in pulling together such an impressive conference."

"Sensors technology is becoming ubiquitous and mission critical to Government and Military initiatives and we are pleased that our events are crossing industry lines from the traditional manufacturing companies to the government market," said Cathy Walters, show director for the Sensors Events for Advanstar Communications. "Our attendees are accustomed to attending a Sensors Expo event to identify trends, explore them in a well-planned, information-packed conference program and then have the opportunity to compare and evaluate the latest solutions on the show floor. We are looking forward to continuing to produce these exciting cutting-edge events throughout the country in the coming year."

Plans are also underway for Sensors Expo & Conference 2005 to be held June 6-9, 2005 at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL. New to the event will be the Wireless Sensors Expo: A concurrent Expo & Conference that will feature the most comprehensive showcase of wireless sensing technology found in one place anywhere in the world and a multi track conference program bringing together thought leaders and innovators who are shaping the landscape of wireless sensing today and in the future.

In addition, continued focus on industry applications in primary markets including Automotive and Medical as well as Consumer Electronics, Telecommunications, Industrial Automation and Information Technology will again shape the Conference program. The Call for papers will open in September. New Show features will include a MEMS/Nanotech Pavilion, a "Sensors in Action" Theater, a Collaboration Zone and an expanded TechnoTour program. Over 250 exhibitors will display thousands of sensor and sensing technology products.
