The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design Features Wide Range of Electronic Design Trends, Techniques, and Best Practices

SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- March 15, 2005 -- Industry Leaders and Academia Share Insight to Help Advance the Quality of SOC Designs and Methodologies

The sixth annual International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED), today announced its 2005 program that will include keynote speeches by industry leaders from Applied Materials, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, PDF Solutions, and TSMC who will discuss critical issues surrounding quality in electronic design. In addition, ISQED announced two high-powered panel discussion sessions, where many leading experts address the important issue of quality design. These panels focus on the following topics:

-- IP Creation and Use - What is the road ahead or is it just clear and bumpy? (Moderated by Stephen Ohr, EETimes)

-- Breakthroughs and Barriers in Nanoelectronics - Can we build systems with nano devices? (Moderated by Michael Santarini, EDN Magazine)

ISQED will be held on March 21-23, 2005 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, CA. Interactive tutorials will be available for attendees who desire in-depth and focused insight into the various critical aspects of electronic design. Additionally, ISQED will present the "Best Paper Awards" to the authors who submitted their technical papers. The "Best Paper Awards," sponsored by Synopsys and Magma Design Systems, will be announced during the Tuesday luncheon.

"The ISQED conference has become an integral communications forum for a variety of semiconductor disciplines, including design, manufacturing and test," said Ashok Sinha, senior vice president and general manger, Applied Materials and ISQED keynote speaker. "While ISQED focuses on current challenges in achieving design quality and methodologies, it also seeks to provide insight into future trends and best practices that will successfully get us there."

ABOUT ISQED

International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design, is a premier Design and Design Automation conference, aimed at bridging the gap between an integration of, electronic design tools and processes, integrated circuit technologies, processes & manufacturing, to achieve design quality. The conference provides a design forum to present and exchange ideas and to promote the research, development, and application of design techniques and methods, design processes, and EDA design methodologies and tools that address issues which impact the quality of the realization of designs into physical integrated circuits. The society and conference was founded and launched in 2000 by industry veteran Dr. Ali Iranmanesh, who serves as the founder and chairman of Silicon Valley Technical Institute.

ISQED 2005 is held in technical sponsorship of IEEE EDS, IEEE CPMT, and in cooperation with IEEE CASS, and ACM/SigDA. The conference is produced and sponsored by the International Society for Quality Electronic Design (www.svtii.com).
