New “IMS Summit” Debuts at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2005

Conference Sessions at Los Angeles Convention Center Next Month Will Help Service Providers Seize Converged Wireless/Wireline Service Opportunities

Norwalk, CT, [September 22, 2005] — Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) today released the complete agenda and speaker roster for the new IMS Summit, debuting next month at their INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO in Los Angeles.

The conference will be held October 24-27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles, CA. IMS Summit takes place Monday, October 24th.

IP Multimedia Subsystems — or IMS — has taken the VoIP industry by storm, promising access-agnostic multimedia services and fixed/mobile convergence. IMS architecture can support a large variety of diverse IP-based services including push-to-talk, color ring-back tones, speech activated dialing, unified messaging, media transcoding and multimedia conferencing.

TMC president and conference chairman Rich Tehrani says the emergence of this new IMS specification is typical of rapid growth markets like VoIP.

“As VoIP evolves and matures, more and more opportunities like IMS will surface. It is the service provider who properly evaluates each development, educates themselves properly, and systematically rolls out new, high-demand applications that will ultimately gain the most market share,” reasoned Tehrani.

IMS Summit conference sessions and their presenting companies are as follows:

  • Introduction to IMS
    Presented by Bay Packets:
  • IMS: Developing Network Infrastructure
Presented by BridgePort Networks and MCI
  • Fixed Mobile Convergence: Finding the Killer Applications
    Presented by BroadSoft
  • Deploying Services Using IMS
