Data Connection’s Megaco/H.248 Protocol Stack Selected by Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe LimitedData Connection’s Megaco/H.248 Protocol Stack Selected by Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited Fujitsu Utilizes DC Megaco in GeoStream Family of Access Products London, UK: January 19, 2005. Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's leading provider of communications protocol software, announced today that Fujitsu has licensed Data Connection’s DC Megaco (H.248) software for use in their GeoStream Access Gateway product line. Fujitsu began implementing the protocol stack in September of 2004 and was able to demonstrate H.248 functionality the following month, participating in the Global Multiservice Switching Forum (MSF) Interoperability (GMI) 2004 event hosted by major carriers across the world. Testing at the GMI verified for the first time that H.248 is suitable for PSTN legacy network migration in the United Kingdom, when implemented according to the MSF UK Access Gateway Implementation Agreement. “The ability of Fujitsu to incorporate Data Connection’s protocol stack and fully interoperate with other vendors under live network scenarios in just 5 weeks is a true testament to the extreme portability and ease of use of Data Connection’s software and to the responsiveness of the customer support organization,” said Phil McConnell, CEO of Data Connection. Simon Rees, Fujitsu’s Director of Product Management, agrees. “Our GeoStream Access Gateway product became one of the first to prove that H.248 is suitable for PSTN legacy network migration in the UK. Data Connection provided an innovative solution and excellent support to achieve this.” Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited is a major supplier of Broadband Access equipment in Europe and is Fujitsu's worldwide design location for access network solutions - including a centre of excellence for the development of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology.
