BAYPACKETS TO HEADLINE IMS SUMMIT AT INTERNET TELEPHONY® CONFERENCE & EXPO
Fremont, CA – October 18, 2005 - BayPackets, Inc., a leader in providing IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) compliant multi-network voice and data solutions for wireless, wireline and cable operators, today announced it will kick-off the IMS Summit at the upcoming INTERNET TELEPHONY® Conference & EXPO in Los Angeles. The one-day Summit, to be held on October 24, will help service providers deliver on IMS’ potential by examining IMS service infrastructure and components, potential applications and deployment issues.
INTERNET TELEPHONY® is the world’s largest VoIP event, showcasing leading cost-saving and cutting-edge IP telephony products and services. BayPackets will exhibit in booth #433, October 24-27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
IP Multimedia Subsystems — or IMS — has taken the VoIP industry by storm, promising access-agnostic multimedia services and fixed/mobile convergence. VDC research estimates that IMS infrastructure market is worth about $561 million this year, and will experience a compound annual growth rate of 67% from 2005 to 2008, exceeding $2.6 billion by 2008.
“As an IMS thought leader and product innovator, BayPackets is a natural to headline Internet Telephony’s new IMS Summit,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Conference Chairman. “As VoIP evolves and matures, more and more opportunities like IMS will surface. It is the service provider who properly evaluates each development, educates themselves, and systematically rolls out new, high-demand applications that will ultimately gain the most market share.”
Sanjeev Chawla, BayPackets’ founder, Executive Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer, will open the IMS Summit with an Introduction to IMS. This session will be followed by sessions on Developing Network Infrastructure, Fixed Mobile Convergence: Finding the Killer Applications, Deploying Services Using IMS, and A Look Ahead: The Future of IMS.
