Shanda Interactive Net Fell 58% in Last Q4


SHANGHAI, Mar 02, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Shanghai Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd. (Nasdaq: SNDA) recorded operating revenues of CNY 1.5383 billion or USD 232.3 million in the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2010, climbing 11% from a quarter earlier and 2% from a year ago.



The revenue growth was boosted by Shanda Games Limited (SDG; Nasdaq: GAME) and Shanda Online Holdings Limited (SDO), the online game and portal operator under the aegis of Shanda Interactive.

Online games generated revenues of CNY 1.153 billion or USD 174 million, moving up 5.1% from a quarter ago and sliding 13.7% from a year earlier, accounting for 74.9% of the company's gross revenues.


MMORPG produced revenues of CNY 1.041 billion or USD 157 million, inching up 7.1% from a quarter earlier and sinking 17.0% from a year ago. Casual games generated revenues of CNY 61.9 million or USD 9.3 million, falling 18.9% from a quarter ago and remaining level with a year earlier.

Net profits reached CNY 176.3 million or USD 26.6 million, rising 23.8% from a quarter earlier and diving 58.2% from a year ago, representing earnings per share of CNY 3.06 or USD 0.46.
