Former Florida Power & Light CEO Armando Olivera To Support GridGlo's Board of Directors


DELRAY BEACH, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

GridGlo LLC, a company specializing in data fusion and smart grid data analytics, announced today the addition of Armando J. Olivera as an Advisor to its Board of Directors. Olivera is the retired president and chief executive officer of Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc.

FPL, one of the largest investor-owned electric utilities in the U.S., grew its assets 79 percent to $31.8 billion under Olivera's leadership. He was appointed president in 2003, CEO in 2008, and retired in May 2012 after 40 years with the company. During his tenure he managed a multibillion-dollar capital investment program that included one of the country's largest deployments of smart meters.

Olivera earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a master of business administration from the University of Miami. He serves as a director for AGL (News - Alert) Resources Inc. and is a member of the board of trustees for Cornell University and Miami Dade College.


GridGlo also recently added Ronald Renzini, former VP of Sales for Itron, to its Advisory Board. Renzini is now the Chief Operations Officer for Corporate Systems Engineering, a leader in the direct load control industry. Renzini joins existing GridGlo Advisors including chairman Jesse Berst, a leading authority on the emerging smart grid market, and Paul De Martini, former head of Cisco's (News - Alert) Energy division.
