This communication network employs Alcatel-Lucent's IP/MPLS technology, which allows the super-fast delivery of huge amounts of data in real time. With this network, desaNet can provide businesses new services including prioritization of signals in case of incidents. This will allow businesses to sort out such incidents before they become an issue. The new network will allow desaNet to support multiple essential services on one communications system to decrease network complexity and costs. The system will offer support for features including teleprotection, which makes sure that faults are secluded from the main supply network to continue the safety and reliability of a system, in milliseconds, before it can affect customers' machinery and systems. It will also offer support for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, in addition to other voice and data services.
