Macy's, Inc. Launches $1 Million Drive for Hurricane Sandy Recovery Efforts
CINCINNATI --(Business Wire)--
Macy's, Inc. (NYSE:M) today is appealing to its customers nationwide to
join the company and its associates in a drive to raise $1 million for
Hurricane Sandy disaster recovery.
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, customers in all Macy's stores
nationwide will be able to contribute $1.00 or more to hurricane
recovery efforts. Contributions can be made at the registers in all
Macy's stores and online at www.macys.com.
Contributions will be accepted through Nov. 30, 2012. The company will
match customer donations on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to $500,000,
in an effort to give more than $1 million. All funds will be donated to
the American Red Cross.
Additionally, the Macy's Foundation will match dollar for dollar
employees' contibutions of $25 or more to organizations providing
relief assistance and services. The contributions must follow the
existing guidelines and limits of the Macy's Foundation's Matching Gifts
program.
Also to help customers impacted by Hurricane Sandy, Macy's will offer a
special savings voucher valid for 20 percent off regular, sale and
clearance priced items and 10 percent off furniture. The voucher can be
used for a six-month period for eligible purchases as listed on the
voucher. Customers will be required to provide a Red Cross Credit Card,
a completed insurance claim form or similar documentation from an agency
such as FEMA, and a photo ID to receive the voucher.
