Oberthur Technologies Wins a Sesames Award for Its Multi-Brand NFC Payment Wallet [Health & Beauty Close - Up]

(Health & Beauty Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oberthur Technologies, a provider of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, announced that the Sesames Jury selected Oberthur Technologies, as a winner in the Mobility category for its Multi-brand NFC Payment Wallet.

According to a release, the Sesames Awards are organised by the Cartes and Identification exhibition in France. They recognise and honour smart card industry players for their products and services, and represent an unchallenged seal of approval. This year, 475 submissions from over 120 companies were competing for 11 Awards.

Oberthur Technologies' Multi-brand NFC Payment Wallet integrates up to ten banking cards through an interface. It allows end-users to gather all their credit and debit cards in their NFC-enabled mobile phone - including both Visa and MasterCard payment means. With the Multi-brand NFC Payment Wallet, end-users are able to make contactless payments, select their default card, manage their PIN codes, access their bank account and obtain information via NFC smart posters. Relying on NFC SIM cards and on Trusted Service Management to securely store applications, administrate them and manage banking credentials, the Wallet provides an optimum level of security and simplicity of use to all end-users.

"Following the Sesames award already won in 2010 for our NFC Now offer, this new award confirms Oberthur Technologies' leadership in the NFC field. Beyond the Multi-brand NFC Payment Wallet developed for our customers and already deployed in Spain, this award recognises our vision of the Mobile Wallet as a mobile interface meant to aggregate a wider range of services, whether NFC or not, simplify their management and secure them, both for our customers and for the end-users," said Arnaud de La Chapelle, General Manager, Convergence and Solutions at Oberthur Technologies.

Oberthur Technologies is a provider of secure technologies.
