Lockheed Martin UK Builds Upon Growing Reputation for UK Government IT Work(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Lockheed Martin UK (LMUK) has built upon its growing reputation for the provision of IT support to the UK Government by securing a place among an elite group of companies providing cloud computing services to a full complement of Government departments and organisations. LMUK has been selected by the Cabinet Office to provide a range of services including infrastructure, software and specialist cloud capabilities. The G-Cloud 2 contract succeeds the previous G-Cloud 1 programme, which LMUK was also a part of. Under the latest framework agreement, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions will now offer support such as computing and storage, e-mail and collaboration, cloud strategy and integration; cloud security; mission centric activities; green IT and energy optimisation; cloud brokering; virtualisation consulting; assessment for Oracle virtualisation and virtual desktop as a service assessment. The second iteration of the G-Cloud framework agreement, better known as CloudStore, will run for a further twelve months, replacing G-Cloud I and extending the range of IT services available to departments and agencies.
