SendGrid Teams Up With Twilio to Offer a Multi-Messaging Platform for the Enterprise

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/04/12 -- SendGrid, the leader in email deliverability, today announced a partnership with Twilio, enabling it to bring a multi-messaging platform to the world of enterprise. The partnership means that SendGrid enterprise customers can now send transactional and marketing emails, SMS, voicemails and push notifications.

The move is part of SendGrid's strategy to offer a complete cloud messaging service by bringing together best-of-breed technology partners. This new service will reduce the cost and complexity of building and maintaining an in-house messaging infrastructure for large scale enterprise customers. The new service is also in keeping with a mission that SendGrid and Twilio share: to provide simple and easy-to-deploy solutions for developers, that are highly customisable through robust APIs.

"We are thrilled to partner with the leading communications API platform provider. Twilio is powering the future of business communications solutions for the enterprise market," said Jim Franklin, CEO of SendGrid. "This multi-messaging platform reinforces our belief in the importance of providing an integrated cloud solution for the enterprise that is cost effective and simple to deploy." "Twilio and SendGrid share a similar mission so this engagement was a natural fit for us," comments Twilio's CEO and founder, Jeff Lawson. "Through this partnership with SendGrid, application developers have access to a full messaging platform." Since its launch in 2009, SendGrid has delivered more than 75 billion emails for its 70,000 customers. In October, SendGrid sent over 6 billion emails sending, on average, 140,000 emails per minute.

With over 150,000 users signed up to date, Twilio offers a communications API platform that enables software people to embed voice, messaging and VoIP into their applications easily, resulting in modern business communications solutions.
