Cirpack delivers SIP interconnection in Italy

Dec 06, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Technicolor has announced that Cirpack has deployed Technicolor's Session Border Controller, or SBC, and softswitch to provide SIP interconnection between two network operators in Italy.

Cirpack has deployed its SBC and softswitch in a regional operator's network, enabling the SIP interconnection with Italy's primary, incumbent telecommunications provider.

Engineered to Italian operator standards, the Cirpack interconnection solution optimizes infrastructure while reducing operations costs. The SBC deployed at the edge of the network - as an interconnection element for SIP signaling and media - ensures the necessary security and routing features.

"We are delighted to deliver our SIP Interconnection capabilities to the Italian market," said Juan Lopez, Head of Cirpack. "This most recent success is the result of close collaboration with our operator customers over several months. We have supported similar efforts throughout Europe, including the French, German and Italian markets, enabling our customers to offer new and innovative services to their end-users." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
