Navispace Reports M2M Challenge Competition

Dec 13, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Navispace announced the M2M Challenge competition, supported by the title sponsors Swisscom, Ericsson and sponsors Telit Wireless Solutions, Varta Microbattery, is seeking top solutions in different fields including healthcare.

According to a release, Swisscom, a Swiss telecom provider, is offering customers the Limmex Emergency Watch enabling the wearer to set up a phone call to selected people or emergency call center. The Limmex watch is an Emergency Watch, made possible by sub-compact dimensions of the Telit GE865-QUAD GSM/GPRS module.

GlucoTel, the glucose monitoring and management system by BodyTel, is another example of how patients can benefit from new health monitoring systems enabled by M2M communication. Vital data is sent via Bluetooth to a home gateway, which sends the data in an SSL encrypted connection to a secure online database.

Concepts for M2M healthcare solutions can be submitted for the M2M Challenge, an international competition in the field of M2M, through Dec. 31.

An panel will evaluate the submissions on criteria including market potential, degree of technological innovation, and novel usage of the Internet of Things.

The winner will receive a cash prize of USD 5,000 and all finalists will get the opportunity to present their solutions to industry and media representatives.

Beecham Research, Cloud and IOT Show and BuildInG Taiwan, Cluster 55, Team Cote d'Azur, and Wearable Technologies make up the international partner network.
