BRIEF: Burglar arrested after dropping cell phone during crime, police say

Dec 17, 2012 (Sun Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- BOYNTON BEACH -- A man broke into a nail salon Sunday and stole $600 but unwittingly left behind a major clue: his cell phone, police said.

After the burglary, according to authorities, the thief then casually went next door to the Boynton Diner on East Woolbright Road and counted the money while eating breakfast.

Police apprehended Kenneth Plummer, 26, after he allegedly broke into an occupied home through an open window but fled after a confrontation with the homeowner, who reported diamond jewelry missing.

He is charged with burglary and grand theft, police said.
