ZTE Helps TMA Upgrade Backbone Network to 100G

SHENZHEN, Dec 20, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063, SEHK: 0763) is said to have aided TMA in deploying 100G national backbone network in Austria.

ZTE has helped TMA, an Austria-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG, upgrade the network capacity from 10G to 100G and accelerate the broadband speed by 10 times. This is ZTE's second in-depth cooperation with Deutsche Telekom after finishing an above-100G on-the-spot experiment with the latter in February 2012.

With businesses developing aggressively, TMA started the deployment of national backbone network in 2011, which is Europe's first commercial WDM automatic switch optical network (WASON). The deployment of WASON was supported by ZTE's smart OTN network solutions.

ZTE's share in global optical network market keeps growing fast. With 2011 Q3-2012 Q2 market share of 12%, ZTE ranks No.3 globally and its 2012 Q2 market share reached 14%, ranking No.2, according to the 2012 Q2 report issued by Ovum.

Having helped many major operators from China, Europe and Asian-Pacific regions finish 100G/above-100G experimental network projects, ZTE has become an "engine" accelerating the development of high-speed optical-communication transmission technologies globally.
