BRIEF: One killed, three injured in Sunday home invasion in St. Pauls

LUMBERTON, Dec 27, 2012 (The Fayetteville Observer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- One man was killed and three others injured Sunday during a home invasion in St. Pauls, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.

Several people were at the home on the 300 block of Edge Grove Circle when someone knocked on the door around 11:30 p.m., Maj. Howard Branch said.

Michael Rawls, who answered the door, was ordered to the floor by a gunman who forced his way inside, Branch said. Rawls told investigators he covered his head and kept his face down. He heard several shots.

The gunman was with several others. One of the intruders, 22-year-old Gary Adams Jr. of McCollum Street in Lumberton, was killed, Branch said.

Anthony Williams, who lives at the home, was shot in the abdomen and leg. He was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, but his condition was not available.

Two others who haven't been identified were wounded.

No one has been charged.
