Internet Telephony Magazine's 'Best Product of the Year 2012' powered by DSP Group platform


Jan 03, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- DSP Group Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG) and Grandstream Networks said that Internet Telephony's "Best Product of the Year 2012," the Grandstream GXP2200 Android Enterprise IP Phone, is powered by DSP Group's XpandR III Media Phone SoC.



The XpandR III platform is a highly-integrated multi-core SoC for voice and video end points, featuring Linux OS with a Google Android framework. Based on an ARM Cortex- A8 1GHz processor, an ARM 926EJ-S 300 MHz processor for audio and voice, and supporting G.711, G.726, G.722, G.729ab, and more - XpandR III is also equipped with multiple hardware accelerators, as well as a security processor for secured boot, secured storage and DRM.

The XpandR III platform also features a video engine supporting HD video conferencing and full HD video playback, a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit supporting 3D graphics with OpenGL ES 2.0, and a Camera Interface Unit. The SoC offers DECT and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity subsystems, and standard peripherals including USB 2.0, SDIO for MMC and SD.
