BRIEF: AT&T gets another dose of Stoops

Jan 03, 2013 (The Eagle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- AT&T got a double bonus with Oklahoma in the AT&T Cotton Bowl because OU head coach Bob Stoops did a commercial with the company that has been airing since late October.

Stoops filmed it at Putnam City High School on a Thursday during an open week.

"I think I was there from 11 at night until 1 or 1:30 in the morning for that 'Hello,'" Stoops said at Wednesday's Cotton Bowl coaches' press conference. "That's how bad I am. It took 2 1/2 hours to say that. I don't know how many takes." In the commercial, a video of a running back who keeps running after being flipped by a defender gets sent to several people on AT&T's 4G network with the last few saying "hello" when they view the video. Stoops says the last hello.

"It just sort of came that way," Stoops said. "It just felt overall that the recruiting exposure and putting the program in front of people never hurts, as long as it fits your schedule." Stoops said he must have said hello 50 times, and many claim the voice is not his, but Stoops said he believes they used one of them and just clipped it in.

"You'll have to ask them. I'm not the editor," Stoops said.
