CES 2013: Lineup of celebs includes Tim Tebow, Maroon 5, Will.I.Am


LAS VEGAS, Jan 08, 2013 (Los Angeles Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Past CES attendees Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga won't be at this year's convention, but the trade show will still roll out the red carpet for a number of Hollywood actors and high-profile singers. The celebrities are scheduled to be on hand to promote their own brands, endorse big tech companies and give live performances.



Here's a roundup of who's slated to appear at CES this week: Qualcomm's pre-show keynote on Monday brought out a slew of surprise celebrity guests, including director Guillermo del Toro, actress Alice Eve and even Big Bird. The event was capped off by a performance by Maroon 5, who performed hits including "Payphone" and "This Love." Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas is set to be a featured panelist on the Next Generation of Innovators keynote at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182 is to sign autographs Tuesday afternoon at the Pioneer Electronics booth. Barker's 1951 Chevy truck will be on display at the show, showcasing Pioneer's 2013 car audio products.


Actor Danny DeVito is scheduled to join the chief technology officers of 20th Century Fox and Panasonic on Wednesday afternoon for a discussion on what's next at the intersection of technology and entertainment.

Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, a CES regular, is to make an appearance at the SMS Audio booth at 3 p.m. Wednesday to promote his high-end line of headphones and earbuds.

Boxer Victor Ortiz is set for a Tuesday afternoon appearance at the Luvvitt booth to sign autographs and hold a meet-and-greet for fans and media members.

Actor and hip-hop artist LL Cool J is scheduled to be interviewed on the CNET stage Tuesday afternoon, talking about his Boomdizzle Liquid MyConnect Studio app.

Television personality Dr. Oz is set to appear as a panelist at the Breakfast of Healthy Champions session on Thursday.

"Jersey Shore's" Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is to be at the Zeikos booth on Wednesday afternoon to unveil her new headphone line. We expect them to be extra roomy to fit over those pouf hairstyles.

Soul Electronics is scheduled to feature Tim Tebow at its suite on Thursday morning for the product launch of the Tebow line. That night, the company plans to throw an after party at TAO nightclub, hosted by Ludacris.
