Videoconferencing Users Group, VCI-Group, Points Members to Elliot Gold's TeleSpan 18th Annual Predictions for the January VCI-G Live

Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jan 14, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The VCI-Group schedules and plans a monthly live webinar, called VCI-G Live, to help educate and inform the 500+ companies and over 5000 individuals in their community on cutting edge market and technology trends in the videoconferencing industry. This month however, VCI-Group is encouraging its membership to attend TeleSpan's 18th annual prediction event in lieu of their normal "VCI-G Live" event.

The Visual Communications Industry Group (VCI-Group), the knowledge-sharing user community that influences the Visual Communications Industry, today recommended to its community of 5000 and membership of more than 500 companies, that they attend the TeleSpan 18th Annual Predictions Conference in lieu of the normal January VCI-Group event. The event will be held, January 18th, 2013 at 1:00PM EST. Attendees can sign up at http://bit.ly/u4Bd66.

Predictions will be made by Elliot M. Gold, President and Publisher of TeleSpan, and will cover trends in voice, video, and web conferencing, as well as TeleSpan's pick of companies that will "hit the wall" or be picked up in consolidations in the next 24-36 months. Elliot will be joined on the call by industry veteran and executive, J D Vaughn, who is known throughout the industry for his hard hitting and "spot on" analysis.

Gold has had unparalleled accuracy in making predictions. Since 1996, Gold has made 170 predictions (10 each year) with a running accuracy score of 75% (127 accurate predictions out of 170). This achievement gives him perhaps the highest batting average in the industry (other analyst groups and Wall Street firms typically have accuracies well below 50%). As a result, many analysts on Wall Street have considered TeleSpan "the authoritative source in teleconferencing" for more than 30 years.

Gold will also review his predictions from 2012 giving them a thumbs-up or down. Attendees to the web conference will be invited to raise questions about TeleSpan's forecasts as well as other questions they have about the conferencing market overall.

"VCIG Live!" will return in February focusing on WebRTC, the "hottest" topic in the visual communications industry. Many believe WebRTC is to videoconferencing and visual communications as smart phones were to the cellular industry. WebRTC and the ability of all PCs, tablets and smart phones to do ad hoc videoconferencing without a client download will cause a powerful industry shift. This important session will occur on February 21st 2013, and is open to VCI-Group members and non-members alike.

The VCI-Group is the knowledge-sharing community that influences the Visual Communications Industry. The VCI-Group is a community comprised of end-users and vendors focused on videoconferencing, telepresence, Unified Communications and/or collaboration technology. Membership consists of individuals from organizations that make visual communications purchasing decisions or recommendations and create implementation strategies, and/or support the technology.

The Visual Communications Industry Group (VCI-Group) is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to working to influence the development of Industry-based standards for multimedia collaboration technologies and applications, to improve industry products and services, and to facilitate the exchange of information among its members.
