Fiberhome Telecom Wins Max. Share in China Unicom Bidding


Jan 24, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The results of a 2012 bidding invited by China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (NYSE: CHU, SEHK: 0762, and SHSE: 600050) for WDM system for long-distance 40G transmission network, which has drawn the most attention, were disclosed a few days ago.



Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 600498) becomes the biggest winner in this bidding, gaining over 60% of the contracts that cover East China, central China, South China and southwestern China.

To satisfy the needs for large scale high-speed data business, China Unicom invited the bidding for the new construction of WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system for long-distance 40G transmission network that contains nine first-tier main lines. The budget is reckoned to exceed CNY 200 million.


Fiberhome also performed well in centralized OTN procurement project of China Telecom Corporation, Ltd. (SEHK: 0728, NYSE: CHA) in August 2012, winning most contracts for 40G OTN project and second largest contracts for 40G DWDM and 10G OTN projects.
