(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ASUS Malaysia has unveiled two Windows 8 devices Asus Taichi and Asus VivoTab Smart and an affordable Android model, Asus MeMO Pad.

The Asus Taichi sports a unique dual-display form-factor to help users entice audience during presentations and enable movie- watching from both sides of the unit.

Powered by Intel quad-core i7 or dual-core i5 processor combined with 4GB memory, the unit also offers Intel HD 400 graphics and a choice of 128GB or 256GB storage.

In terms of connectivity, there are the dual-band Wi-Fi and Intel WiDi, Bluetooth 4.0 and two USB 3.0 ports. Multimedia users enjoy audio via Asus SonicMaster technology, a five-megapipxel auto-focus camera and 1080p Full HD video features. Pricing starts from RM3,999.



The Asus VivoTab Smart tablet is for users who love compact solutions. Built with 10.1-inch LED-backlit IPS display, the unit enables five-point multitouch input while its TranSleeve Keyboard accessory works as a cover, stand and keyboard.

The model further adds an eight-megapixel rear camera and a two- megapixel front camera, SonicMaster audio technology with stereo speakers, 64GB onboard storage and 2GB RAM.


The Wi-Fi variant (ME400C) offers 9.5 hours of battery life and is priced for RM1,799 while the Wi-Fi + LTE model s (ME400CL battery lasts 8.5 hours and is priced at RM2,099.

Bringing Android cheer is the ASUS MeMO Pad, a 7-inch model with Jelly Bean operating system, 1GHz VIA WM8950 CPU and a Mali-400 GPU to aid smooth web browsing. The LEDbacklit display is bright at 350- nits and it supports 10-point multitouch input too.

With 16GB internal storage, 32GB microSD card slot and micro-USB port, the unit is available in three colours, namely Sugar White, Titanium Gray and Cherry Pink. The model is priced at RM499.

SMART BANKING CITIBANK Berhad has unveiled Citibank Express, a smart banking machine that allows customers to do more in one visit.

Intuitive and intelligent, Citibank Express supports online banking connection, video-conferencing and biometric authentication, apart from taking cheques and scanning documents.

Sanjeev Nanavati, chief executive officer of Citibank, says it will further enhance smart banking.

In addition, customers enjoy a brand new user interface that allows them to customise their home page with widgets for their favourite transactions at Citibank Express, he added.

Meanwhile,Citibank s head of retail banking Elaine Fan says Citibank Express will be available initially at Menara Citibank and at all its ATM machines nationawide in two to three years time.
