IDS Awarded Service Contract with Premier Healthcare Alliance

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

Integrated Document Solutions (IDS), a leader in healthcare information technology, announced it has been awarded a 3-year group purchasing contract to provide transcription services at specially negotiated pricing and terms to Premier's alliance of more than 2,700 hospitals and 90,000 providers nationwide.

The contract allows eligible members to gain significant operational cost savings through improved clinical documentation processes. In addition to medical transcription and editing services, Premier members can realize greater efficiencies using IDS cloud technology for comprehensive clinical reporting and information and image sharing, speech recognition and workflow management.

With the introduction of EHR, many HIM directors assumed transcription would become obsolete. That did not happen; however, EHR did bring on a whole set of new challenges. Many physicians have experienced a loss in productivity, mobility and face time with their patients. IDS helps providers mitigate losses with mobile and enhanced workflow solutions.

We're excited to be selected as supplier for this alliance, dedicated to leading the transformation to high-quality, cost-efficient healthcare," said CEO of IDS Yaniv Dagan. "At the heart of the IDS technology infrastructure is the transcription piece, but we realized from the start that with our expertise in interoperability and assembling documents from different sources and different HIMs, IDS can play a pivotal role in helping healthcare organizations of all sizes streamline medical record workflows and overcome the challenges associated with EHR adoption. With IDS technology enabling interconnectivity, our clients can bridge gaps, gain operational efficiencies and achieve meaningful use goals."

IDS transcription services provide incomparable flexibility and reliability. Physicians can document clinical cases with traditional dictation -- using a mobile device, digital handheld recorder, or toll-free landline -- voice recognition, automated template match, or they can employ a hybrid approach, combining a number of methods. The IDS transcription platform incorporates rigorous quality assurance measures that track the report completion times and accuracy rates of medical transcriptionists (MTs). Physicians have the option to use IDS professional transcriptionists and editors or opt for in-house MTs to work on the IDS platform.

HIM directors and practice managers gain insight with enterprise analytical reports for key indicators such as report turnaround time, productivity by physician or location, and savings achieved through speech recognition technology.

Owned by hospitals, health systems and other providers, Premier operates a leading healthcare purchasing network with more than $4 billion in annual savings. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Premier also has an office in Washington.
