not yet finally confirmed, results for the just lapsed business year 2012.

According to those numbers, the company attained sales revenues of about 2,22 mil. Euros, in contrast to 1,75 mil. Euros in the preceding year (2011). This corresponds to an increase of about 26 %. Compared with the previous year, the EBITDA of TEUR 74 improved by 238 % to TEUR 250, The results of normal business operations(EBT) rose above those of 2011 to TEUR 126 and exceeded by approximately 173 % that year's corresponding results.

Final numbers will probably be released by the company at the beginning of May.

Gratifying start of the new business year 2013 Effective at the beginning of January, 2013, artec technologies AG and a television broadcaster closed a maintenance agreement valued at an amount in the lower six-digit range. The agreement will run for the next two years and be a continuous source of revenue, thus providing artec technologies AG a positive outset for the upcoming new year. Large-scale projects in both areas of the company's business activities and which contributed to the company's total revenues and earnings in the previous year will continue to have positive effects on the results during this business year as well.

Further, artec technologies AG is presently active in a number of national and international bidding competitions. The company is striking an optimistic note that results similar to those in 2012 can likewise be achieved this year.

Continued expansion of the video security technology business model In ever-shorter cycles, ongoing rapid technical progress requires constant adaptation of a company's business models. In the area of video security technology, artec's Board of Directors anticipates that digital cameras will continue to replace network recorders in video capture and related functions. This so-called 'edge recording' certainly provides a number of advantages. In such cases, videos are recorded directly onto commercially available SD memory cards contained in the cameras. Particularly in smaller video surveillance systems, it is expedient to simply view the results of such captured events as live or recorded videos via the Internet. This can, for example, be achieved via apps in commonplace tablet or smartphone systems. For the customer, this has several advantages over conventional systems. For example, costs can be reduced in the acquisition of hardware or through lower installation expenses.

In numerous Research and Development (R&D) projects, artec began early on to adapt to such new developments in the market, for example by developing new, intelligent software for future utilization in advanced camera systems. In addition to the standard functions used in video surveillance, artec has also developed such innovations as counting human traffic, license plate identification,early-warning fire alarms, data protection and audio radar. Future software solutions by artec technologies AG, together with their long-time successful technologies, provide an ideal supplement to an already comprehensive palette of products, a major factor in distinguishing artec from its competitors. The expanded business model in this market segment will excellently prepare the company for future demands and multiply the range of its potential customer base by several increments.

Investments in distribution, marketing, and public relations All in all, the Board of Directors has a very positive view of the future development and marketing potential in both of artec's areas of business.

To continue to flourish in such an innovative growth market, artec will also implement extensive investments in distribution, marketing, and public relations, especially during the first and second quarters of the present business year.

Prognosis for further development Providing that the essential economic parameters, especially in Germany, do not worsen, the Board of Directors is unanimously optimistic that they will be able to continue their successful growth in this business year as well.

For that matter, artec technologies AG will definitely strive to attain an improvement in its basic operating figures during 2013.
