The company announced today that it has developed a prototype
electric power management system that combines an ideal mix of
storage batteries and photovoltaic power generation for
self-sustained operation in communities during extended blackouts.
The technology was achieved through the company's Smart Grid and
Smart Community initiative.

The company announced today that it has developed large-capacity
silicon carbide (SiC) power module technologies incorporating
all-SiC power devices for unprecedented 1,200-volt, 1,200-ampere
performance. The new technologies, which have been incorporated in a
prototype module, are expected to expand SiC applications to factory
automation equipment, elevators, escalators, photovoltaic systems,
wind-power generation systems and other industrial uses.

March 2014.
