UK Civil Aviation Authority selects Good Technology

Feb 14, 2013 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- UK-based aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said it has selected California-based enterprise mobility firm Good Technology to help increase staff productivity, efficiency and collaboration by enabling mobile workers to access emails, contacts and calendars securely on the go.

The firm's Good for Enterprise product was chosen following CAA's months-long review of its strategy for its growing mobile workforce, which included a comprehensive review of mobile working practices, Good Technology said.

CAA said it completed a successful pilot of Good for Enterprise across a number of devices and is now moving into full production. Starting immediately, staff will use either personally-owned or corporate-owned Android (NASDAQ: GOOG) smartphones, iPad (NASDAQ: APPL) and iPhones with Good for Enterprise installed.

The agency said that one-third of its 1,000 strong workforce are able to work remotely. Mobile workers including surveyors, inspectors and examiners require fast, efficient and secure access to corporate email.

CAA has offices at Gatwick Airport, Holborn in London and six additional locations throughout the United Kingdom.
