Alps Electric Selects Apriso for Manufacturing Intelligence

TOKYO --(Business Wire)--

Apriso, a leading provider of manufacturing software solutions, today announced that Alps Electric Co., Ltd., a global manufacturer of high-quality electronic components for mobile devices, industrial equipment and automobiles, has selected FlexNet Manufacturing Process Intelligence (MPI) for manufacturing intelligence, analytics and reporting.

MPI supports manufacturing companies by providing real-time visibility to manufacturing operations. MPI consolidates the management and reporting of various data in global manufacturing operations into intelligence for improved decision support. Apriso's Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence application is built on the Microsoft (News - Alert) BI stack that uses SQL Server Enterprise Edition.

Today's announcement reflects the power of Apriso's manufacturing operations platform, which is designed to address Alps Electric's requirements to shorten lead times and reduce idle stock and inventory on a global scale. Apriso's MPI solution can indicate real-time points for improvement and provide actionable insights, which can then be performed at each of Alps Electric's manufacturing operations plants.

"We believe Apriso has much experience in global solutions for manufacturing operations - and is in fact a pioneer of such solutions. By using advanced manufacturing intelligence to consolidate multi-modal analytics, we expect Apriso's MPI to enabe not only reduced reporting work by each workgroup at each site, but to also consolidate these reports at an enterprise-level," said Mr. Hirotaka Ibaraki, Project Manager of Alps Electric Co., Ltd. "In the end, we expect MPI to shorten process improvement cycles."

"We are highly honored that Alps Electric has decided to implement Apriso's Manufacturing Process Intelligence solution, MPI, to enhance their manufacturing intelligence. MPI can help Alps Electric to further elevate the company's operational excellence and make the next leap forward on a global scale," stated Gerry Fosnick, General Manager of Field Operations for Apriso Japan.

The partnership with Alps Electric and Apriso was first publicized in March 2012 when Apriso announced Alps Electric selected FlexNet to streamline their global manufacturing operations in order to improve visibility and efficiency across their 17 plants located around the world. They are currently implementing the first five sites.
