Birch Communications acquires network assets from Covista Communications


Mar 27, 2013 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Birch Communications, a provider of IP-based telecommunications and managed services, has acquired the network assets and select customer from Covista Communications, Inc., a facilities-based telecommunications service provider. Both the companies are based in the US.

Deal Rationale The acquisition strengthens the breadth and scope of the Birch Communications' IP-Network, and complements its current IP-Network and expands it to 10 states.

The acquisition enhances Birch Communications Hosted-PBX, SIP-Trunking and Carrier Services (wholesale) product offerings.

Further, Covista's Metaswitch-based facilities network, which has switching centers in Tennessee, New York City and Los Angeles, is complementary to Birch Communications' current service footprint while also adds some new markets.
