Cleveland Public Power to Deploy SCADA System from Efacec ACS


ATLANTA, June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Efacec ACS, a global provider of smart grid solutions, has been selected to install a complete turn-key PRISM(TM) SCADA system to Ohio's largest municipally owned electric utility, Cleveland Public Power (CPP). The new system will be utilized for control of CPP's sub-transmission, as well as the utility's distribution system.

The server-based SCADA system will be deployed using a distributed architecture, providing CPP with full redundancy for both primary and backup systems. Efacec ACS will also supply and install new operator consoles in the utility control center. Software applications to be delivered with the PRISM SCADA system include the advanced Graphical Operator Interface, Enterprise Historian, Automatic Generation Control, Short Term Load Forecasting and Interchange Transaction Scheduling.
