New Managing Director Diaverum Germany Fosters Integrated Renal Patient Care

MUNICH --(Business Wire)--

Diaverum, Europe's largest product independent and one of the world's leading renal care service providers, is continuing its German success story. By appointing Dr. Kornél Széchenyi as new Managing Director, Diaverum accelerates the idea of an integrated renal patient care to improve quality of life for renal patients.

After opening the first clinic in Germany in 2009, Diaverum has written a remarkable success story in a highly competitive surrounding. Today Diaverum provides dialysis to more than 1,500 patients with end stage renal disease in 21 clinics, and other medical services to thousands of additional patients. Amongst the recently acquired clinics are the four dialysis centres of Alter Teichweg and Schlankreye.

"Our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to constantly improve their quality of life. By fostering the idea of integrated renal patient care Diaverum sets a new standard in dialysis services", says Dr. Kornél Széchenyi.

New Managing Director in Germany "Germany is a key market - and we are ready to broaden our footprint and take on new business opportunities. For Diaverum Dr Széchenyi is the best choice to drive further growth" explains Dag Andersson, CEO and President of Diaverum.

Dr Széchenyi, a native Hungarian, is a qualified medical doctor and an experienced health care manager. He started his career as a trauma surgeon before moving into the 'business side' of healthcare with Novartis in Hungary. For the last five years he held the position of Managing Director for Diaverum in Hungary.

Under his leadership, Diaverum Hungary significantly increased the number of patients and facilitated the availability and offering of Peritoneal Dialysis treatments. During this time, Diaverum Hungary achieved profitable growth despite a difficult economic climate and a challenging reimbursement structure.

Dr Széchenyi reports to Mans Olsson, Director Area Central at Diaverum. "Dr Széchenyi's skills and qualifications, and his broad experience in both the medical as well as the business side of healthcare, identified him as the ideal person to take on the German business", states Mans Olsson.

Dr Széchenyi has replaced Martin von Hummel who significantly contributed to the strong growth of Diaverum Germany over the last four years.
