Mocana Senior Analyst Robert Vamosi to Be Featured at Chicago Ideas Week

Mocana (News - Alert), the device security leader, today announced that Senior Analyst Robert Vamosi, CISSP, will be featured along with several other notables in a panel discussion, "Privacy: How Safe Are You?", which will focus on hacking, surveillance and cyber security in a constantly evolving digital landscape. Vamosi will cite, among other examples, smart meters which transmit details about our personal behavior - such as when we're home and when we're not - as potential future targets for criminals. The talk is part of the upcoming Chicago Ideas Week (CIW), a premier annual gathering of global thought leaders being held October 14 - 20 at various locations throughout Chicago.

The privacy panel takes place on Wednesday, October 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Edlis Neeson Theater at the Museum of Contemporary Art, which is located at 220 East Chicago Avenue.

In addition to being a senior analyst for Mocana, Robert Vamosi is the author of When Gadgets Betray Us: The Dark Side of our Infatuation With New Technologies, a bestselling book that looks at the security consequences of digital convenience in the modern world, from electronic gadgets in cars to implanted medical devices. Vamosi has more than a dozen years of security journalism experience, writing for national outlets such as ZDNet, CNET CBS News, PC World and Forbes. He also worked as a financial services industry analyst specializing in security, risk management and fraud.
