Lindenbaum : Dial into conference calls thru a browser

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Lindenbaum provides VoIP clients based on WebRTC and Flash that allow participants to join in conference calls thru a browser.

Karlsruhe. Lindenbaum, a manufacturer of conference bridges and conferencing software for carriers and conference service providers, has greatly simplified dialing into conference calls via VoIP. Opening a browser window is enough to access the conference via VoIP. Conference Service providers can thus meet the expectations of their customers to enable to dial into conference calls via VoIP without changing the user interface or any extra effort.

Up to this point a user had to have a VoIP Phone installed on his computer, enter the correct number and dial the SIP number. Now to open a browser window is enough - redirection to the conference system is automatically. The only requirement is a headset connected to the computer. Participants are free to choose whether they wish to participate at a conference by phone or via a browser.

To make the integration as flexible and simple as possible, both VoIP clients can be integrated into Lindenbaum conferencing systems as well as already existing user interfaces of conferencing systems. The improvement has been implemented in WebRTC, a new and innovative framework for real-time communication on the Internet, and on the basis of Flash: - On the one hand Lindenbaum relies on innovative, open standards like WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication), so that the VoIP telephony via browser is possible without plug-ins or similar. WebRTC enables a high-quality real-time communication in the browser based on HTML5 and JavaScript APIs, so the latest W3C compliant standards. The WebRTC initiative is still at an early stage of development and is supported by Google, Mozilla and Opera. So far, the client works only in the latest Google Chrome browser (V.26 and higher).

- To provide a simple VoIP dial-up for all users a VoIP client based on Flash was created. The Flash player is still the most widely used browser plug-in and is therefore ideally suited as an alternative. Of course, a Flash plug-in must be installed on the device of the user.
