Aditazz Wins Cancer Research Hospital Project for Li Ka Shing Foundation [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aditazz announced its international expansion by winning the landmark Cancer Research Hospital project at Shantou University, China, sponsored by the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF), a charitable institution with education and healthcare as its primary focus.

The stark reality of a high incident rate of cancer confronts China-- six patients are diagnosed with cancer every minute, according to the 2012 China Cancer Census. As China grapples with the crisis, it has adopted an aggressive approach and is opening treatment facilities nationwide. There is however a need for cancer research focused on prevention, early detection and treatment specific to the local conditions.

"The Aditazz services and technology promise to be a more efficient and cost effective way to extend our charitable resources to solving the basic need of improved health" said Dr. Frieda Law, speaking on behalf of LKSF. "We are eager to apply Silicon Valley innovation and technology to creating healthcare infrastructure that paves the path to a quantum improvement in the quality of patient care while minimizing capital and operating costs." Continuing its momentum and commitment to integrate solutions in design, technology and manufacturing while solving complex infrastructure problems, Aditazz said it is positioned to address the staggering challenges of healthcare construction in China.

Elaborating on the significance of the project, Deepak Aatresh, Aditazz co-founder, said, "This win gives Aditazz yet another opportunity to apply its one-of-a-kind patented solution to a problem of enormous magnitude. Healthcare is a global challenge. We are delighted to be selected due to our unique ability to bring scalable technology and services to address this challenge of global scale." Shantou University Medical College Cancer Hospital professor, Dr. Guo-Jun Zhang, highlighted the Silicon Valley allure: "We are excited to launch the project with the much needed multi- disciplinary collaboration between design, construction, and healthcare experts from around the globe; all stitched together with the innovative Aditazz approach. This is the first time we are seeing an approach that is rooted in technology from Silicon Valley and is an appropriate response to the staggering challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment faced by our community." Aditazz designs and delivers next-generation complex buildings by integrating solutions in design, technology and manufacturing. Based in Silicon Valley, the company brings together experts and solutions from the worlds of semiconductor design, computer science, architecture, systems and structural engineering, modular manufacturing and assembly, and planning and operations.

The Li Ka Shing Foundation coordinates and provides philanthropic contributions towards medical, educational, cultural and other community welfare projects with a focus on Hong Kong and Mainland China. The Li Ka Shing Foundation has supported numerous charitable activities with grants, sponsorships and commitments in excess of $1 Billion.

Shantou University Cancer Hospital is part of the Medical School at Shantou University, a public university in Shantou, China, that receives funding from the Li Ka Shing Foundation. The University consists of nine schools and colleges.
