Committee on ICT of Legislative Chamber holds session [UzDaily (Uzbekistan)]


(UzDaily (Uzbekistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Committee of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on information and communication held an expanded session.

Representatives of ministries, departments and committees, political parties considered information of the State Committee on communication, informatization and telecommunication technologies of Uzbekistan on measures on introduction information-communication technologies in all spheres of the state administration and economy.



The session underlined that currently about 19 million people use mobile communication services in Uzbekistan.

Number of internet subscribers in Uzbekistan rose by 18.3% year-on-year and reached 7.1 million people, UzA reported.


It was stated that Uzbekistan launched the Single portal of the state interactive services, which unites all state bodies.

As of 10 December 2013, the portal received over 3,800 appeals from individuals and legal entities, of which 75% were solved.

The session underlined that about 89% of business entities submitted tax reports in electronic form, 86% - statistic reports. About 130,000 businesses obtained firm names in electronic form. The customs bodies received over 38,000 customs declarations. The official petitions to the courts of Uzbekistan now can be submitted in online form.

The session underlined that that state bodies are working on improving their websites and connecting them to the Single portal of the state interactive services and introducing single automated process of production and management.

The session participants shared their proposals and recommendations on increasing efficiency of use of ICT and solving existing problems.
