ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 30 -- Columbia University, New York, has been assigned a patent (8,614,471) developed by James S. Im, New York, and Ui-Jin Chung, Fort Lee, N.J., for "collections of laterally crystallized semiconductor islands for use in thin film transistors."
