Crystal Canney and Felicia Knight team up for new PR firm [Bangor Daily News (ME)](Bangor Daily News (ME) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PORTLAND, Maine -- Two veteran public relations professionals in the political arena are merging their respective firms to form a new company. Crystal Canney and Felicia Knight have joined their firms -- Canney Communications and Knight Vision International -- to form The Knight Canney Group. Both Canney and Knight have years of experience handling communications for political campaigns. Canney recently served as communications director for U.S. Sen. Angus King and is currently the spokeswoman for Eliot Cutler's gubernatorial campaign, while Knight spent five years as communications director for U.S. Sen. Susan Collins. Both are former journalists and met nearly 30 years ago while both worked at the CBS afliate in Bangor. "Merging our companies was, on the one hand not something we did lightly, but on the other, something that seemed logical and natural," Knight said in a statement. Knight is president of the new firm, while Canney is CEO. Both are retaining their current clients at the new company.
