Neil Smit Begins Tenure as Chairman of NCTA Board


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, Jan. 3 -- The National Cable and Telecommunications Association issued the following news release: Neil Smit, President and CEO of Comcast Cable and Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation, officially began his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) on January 1, 2014. Smit, who was elected Chairman at the November 2013 NCTA Board meeting, takes over for Glenn Britt who has retired from Time Warner Cable.



NCTA President & CEO Michael Powell said: "On behalf of the NCTA Board and staff, I want to offer my sincere thanks to Glenn for his outstanding leadership and meaningful contributions to NCTA and the entire industry. We will miss Glenn's sage advice and wisdom and wish him all the best in retirement.
