DVDO Unveils AVLab TPG™, The First Pocket-Sized HDMI 2.0 Test Pattern Generator Supporting Full 4K Ultra HD At 50/60HZ

SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality video connectivity solutions, today announced the first pocket-sized Test Pattern Generator (TPG), the AVLab TPG™, which allows professional AV installers to generate 4K custom test patterns to ensure proper set-up and calibration for 4K Ultra HD displays on-site. The AVLab TPG supports full 4K Ultra HD resolution at 50/60Hz, as outlined in Version 2.0 of the HDMI® Specification, and is designed specifically for use with Color Management System (CMS) software like Spectracal's CalMANTM. The calibration process is streamlined by interfacing directly with CMS software to automatically display 4K test patterns. The AVLab TPG is available in March for an MSRP of $1,299 through authorized DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.

"The AVLab TPG will be an essential tool for ISF calibrators and installers when setting up new 4K displays for optimum viewing quality," said Joel Silver, president and founder of the Imaging Science Foundation, Inc. "While 4K displays have incredible resolution, without proer setup and calibration the viewer cannot enjoy the full experience."

"4K Ultra HD displays are becoming increasingly common; installers and calibrators clearly need to upgrade their equipment to continue to provide the same installation and setup services they have perfected at 1080p. AVLab TPG provides lab-quality 4K test patterns in a pocket-portable, PC powered package allowing installers to match test pattern quality to the full capability of 4K UHD TVs," said C.H. Chee, general manager of DVDO, Inc."

DVDO AVLab TPG Features:

  • Full 4K (50/60Hz) test pattern as outlined in Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification
  • 85+ built-in patterns (R, G, B, C, M, Y, K, Scale, Sharp (News - Alert), Focus, Bars, PLUGE, Half, etc.)
