Nelson has 33 years' experience in the international energy industry and will help advise and guide AtHoc's continued growth in industrial markets, particularly the energy and chemical sectors. Nelson spent 33 years with ExxonMobil Corporation. Upon the 1999 merger of Exxon and Mobil, Nelson was named chairman and chief executive officer of ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh, a position he held until 2004. Nelson then served as a corporate vice president directing the company's government relations efforts from 2004 to 2009. Nelson began his career at Mobil Corporation in 1976 in the supply and trading area and, at Mobil, held a variety of management roles related to the Middle East, liquefied natural gas and power development, and supply and oil trading, living and working in New York City, London, Washington, D.C. and Houston. Nelson earned a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy and an M.S. from George Washington University. Prior to entering the private sector, he was an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
