The presentation wil discuss a technology-enabled solution supporting Veterans Health Administration (VHA) initiatives to improve patient safety, care quality, and operational efficiency. In June, 2013, LiveData OR-Dashboard was deployed in all ten fully integrated surgical suites at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center building in Miami, providing the cornerstone for advances in both workflow efficiency and patient safety. LiveData OR-Dashboard presents essential information about the patient and surgical case to the entire OR team on a large display, in real-time. LiveData partnered with KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America to lead the technology installation, which includes the KARL STORZ OR1® operating room integration systems. DSS fully integrated the system with the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center's VistA (Veteran's Health Information System and Technology Architecture) Electronic Health Record (EHR). The combined technologies provide clear and immediate access to critical information about the patient, procedure, and workflow, enabling every member of the perioperative team to fully and effectively focus on the patient. DSS and LiveData will present their technology vision at their joint exhibit at the Association of VA Surgeons annual conference.
