(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BELLINGHAM, Wash., April 10 -- Western Washington University issued the following news release: Society's roles within social media - whether as a tool for marketing yourself and your career path or as a shaper of our online identities - are the two speaker topics at Western's annual Tech Tonic technology expo on April 10 in the Wilson Library Reading Room.

Tech Tonic 2014, "Get Yourself Out There: Making Sense of Social Media," is free and open to the public.

The morning speaker, from 10-11 a.m., is Assistant Professor of Marketing Mark Staton, who will present "Career Networking Through Digital Marketing." Staton will go over some of the simple steps available to both students and those already in the work force to boost career opportunities through social media.
