Stats office GUS estimates Poland's mobile telephony penetration at 147.4% in March [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports](IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Poland's mobile telephony penetration rose to 147.4% at the end of March of 2014 from 146.8% at the end of 2013 (and vs. 142.4% at the end of Q1 of 2013), according to the data of national stats office GUS. At the end of March of 2014, the number of mobile telephony users amounted to 56.7mn (54% of which were pre-paid services users), which is up by 3.4% y/y and up by 0.4% from the end of 2013, GUS also reported. The number of fixed-line telephony users has continued its downward trend initiated in 2005, GUS also noted. At the end of March of 2014, their number amounted to 5.8mn, i.e. it was down by 1.2% from the end of 2013. Market penetration was 15.0% vs. 15.2$ at the end of 2013.
