Montenegro's IT services market up 34% to EUR 4.5mn in 2013 [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The turnover of IT services in Montenegro rose 34% to EUR 4.5mn last year, according to data presented by the head of the country's IT Cluster, Aleksandar Prelevic.

Montenegro's IT investments per capita stood at just EUR 45 in 2013, which is significantly below the EU average of EUR 800. It is also worse compared to the EUR 200 per capita investment in Croatia, EUR 70 in each of Bulgaria and Romania and EUR 60 in Serbia.



Prelevic presented the data at an IT conference held in Podgorica earlier this week.

Montenegro's hardware imports totalled EUR 25mn last year versus exports of just EUR 975,000. The software imports, on the other hand, were EUR 2.5mn.


There were 219 active IT firms in the Adriatic state at the end of 2013, which employed 592 workers.

Total public IT procurement in Montenegro stood at EUR 5mn last year - half of them went for equipment and the other half for services.
