Father's Day, Men's Health Week Prostate Cancer Screenings at NJ Urology

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

New Jersey Urology is offering free prostate cancer screenings on select dates at their Cancer Centers in Bloomfield and Saddle Brook, New Jersey in recognition of Father's Day and Men's Health Week.

Throughout New Jersey, many of the men most vulnerable to prostate cancer are no longer being screened for this potentially fatal disease by their primary care physicians. Worse yet, few know this safeguard has been dropped. All too many men are walking time bombs, unaware of the risks they face or that the cancer may have already developed.

"It's all due to the Screening for Prostate Cancer Recommendation statement released May 2012by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force," says Victor Houtz, Chief Operating Officer at New Jersey Urology. "It recommends against PSA based screening for prostate cancer."

This leaves men who assume they are being carefully monitored, at a heightened risk for prostate cancer.

"For this reason, New Jersey Urology -- a leader in the state's urology practices -- is offering free screenings to fill this void and to give our men (and the women and children in their lives) the most valuable Father's Day gift of all," says Houtz.

New Jersey Urology is offering free screenings at their two Cancer Centers on the following dates and times:

Bloomfield NJ Center:
June 16, 17 and 20 - 8AM-3PM
June 21 - 9AM-1PM

Saddle Brook NJ Center:
June 18 and 19 - 8AM-3PM
June 22 - 1PM-5PM

To schedule a time for a screening, please call 201-881-1015 or visit urologyscreenings.com.
