City of Thornton, Colorado to implement CIS Infinity

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 11 July 2014 Release date- 10072014 - Thornton, CO and Toronto, ON - Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced), proudly announces that the City of Thornton, Colorado (the City) has selected Advanced's flagship customer information and billing system, CIS Infinity, along with Infinity.

Mobile to replace its existing solution.

Located in Adams County in the northeast quadrant of the greater Denver metropolitan area, the City provides a full range of municipal services including water, wastewater, solid waste and recycle collection. Since the City's inception in 1956, the population has grown to over 118,000 residents and over 38,000 utility accounts.

The City released a request for proposal in order to identify, and subsequently select, a replacement for its existing customer information and billing application (CIS). The City's current CIS lacked ease of use and robust functionality in the areas of rates management, reporting, service order management and customer account management. As well, the need for workflow automation and growing customer service demands solidified the City's decision to replace its CIS application.

During the fall of 2013, the City began its formal request for proposal process and completed a thorough review of vendor applications in order to find solutions that would meet the City's CIS demands. Advanced provided a comprehensive bid in response to the City's request for proposal that fully addressed the City's CIS software needs.

The City's Customer Billing Supervisor, Monica Heimbecher notes, 'We were looking for a CIS product that could improve our customer service operations and enhance our business processes through increased efficiency and automation. It also had to be intuitive to navigate and use. During our evaluation process, we found CIS Infinity was the right fit.' In addition to Advanced's flagship, CIS Infinity, the City also chose Infinity.Mobile for automated service order management. Infinity.Mobile is a real-time integrated application that will complement CIS Infinity to facilitate the reduction of errors, eliminate manual processes and ultimately improve customer service practices at the City.

Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced mentions, 'The City of Thornton is an excellent addition to the CIS Infinity user base in the state of Colorado. CIS Infinity is the right fit for the City and it will provide them with exceptional automation and functionality. We are excited to partner with the City to not only implement CIS Infinity but also meet and exceed their customer service requirements via the functionality our solutions provide. ' The project is well underway as the Advanced team kicked off the project this past June.
