Lodi City Councilwoman JoAnne Mounce reappointed to seat on League of Cities board [Lodi News-Sentinel, Calif. :: ](Lodi News-Sentinel (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 02--Lodi City Councilwoman JoAnne Mounce was reappointed as an at-large member of the League of California Cities at its July 17 and 18 meeting in Monterey. Mounce was first appointed five years ago, and will serve another two as a representative of the Central Valley. Mounce was chosen out of 23 other applicants from the 482 cities in California. "The League of California Cities is the leading voice of California cities, and I view my position on the board of directors as a way I am able to represent not only the city of Lodi but all cities throughout the state," she said in a press release posted on www.lodi.gov. "Together we examine legislation and take policy positions on a wide range of issues affecting local agencies, and contribute to the League's very effective lobbying efforts." Mounce participated in the league's third board meeting of the year, where officers and directors examined current legislation and policy proposals before the Legislature. The board of directors received briefings on a wide range of issues during the two-day meeting, including economic development legislation, funds that will be allocated from state Cap-and-Trade funds, the status of the Water Bond, affordable housing strategies, massage therapy regulation legislation and medical marijuana regulation legislation.
